Why so much fuss about Pseudo Indians??......

Just a few days back, when Sunita Williams completed her remarkable journey in space, the people who were the most interested in all this apart from NASA and her family were our Indian news channels.... This brings out a question from with in....

why so much fuss about it.....??

Not taking anything away from the remarkable journey she undertook, my displeasure lies with the Indian media.....

The media has time and again potrayed the stories of these NRI's with vigour and enthusiasm, linking their Indian roots, trying to raise the countries global image.Trying to bring out any form of Indianess tht lies in them......... Laxmi Mittal, Sunita Williams, the list will keep on growing, but really the question tht arises is

why do we talk about foreign stuff when our own country is shinning?

Wont it be better to talk about our home grown heroes on a much higher scale than these pseudo Indians..... If u really want to lift the image of the country then it is better to look at facts than being fancy.......Will it not lift countries image to talk more about the Ambanis and Tata's then Mittals, whose success has nothing to do with India.

Times are changing and so is the face of our nation and its high time the media stops looking for fancy and psuedo stuffs. There is no dearth of talent in our nation and let the world know of it...........

I love tearing people who like talking so much abt "phoney patriotism/nationalism"...

For your information...a substantial portion of the Indian economy is dependent on investments made by NRIs...
why u ask..?? Simple...coz they pay tax on it...& the taxation system is such that the more u earn & invest...the more the government also earns..

Shirk NRIs & u risk having to pay more for the abysmally poor services back home..!!!!

& yes...making conclusions without seeing both sides of the picture is NOT a good idea..!!!!

Cheers..!!
An NRI..!!! ;)

@ shubu...

dude the whole point of article was not to criticise the NRI's .. my view here is that the media need not present larger than life image of these people...
All the nations cheer for home grown talent not for imported ones... (unless u are talking abt British people!!!!)...and thts wht our media should focus more on.....

Well....the perennial problem of our Indian race has been that we indulge in Idol/hero worship merely to derive satisfaction from someone else's success...as a compensation for our own dreams remaining unfulfilled...

U complain at one end that some losers are made stars for no reason...& yet u say that we need more of such "stars" getting created..???
No thanks dude...all this business of deriving satisfaction merely from hjeaping praise on others leads to getting used to mediocrity & nothing else...Period.
